chairs!

Mignonne is continuing our chair design partnership with textile artist Gina Perincini of Flock. In addition to our line of custom dining chairs, customer can now select occasional chairs for purchase ... or bring in one for custom design treatment.

Here's an example of what you can select. This vintage Federal armchair, circa 1940s has been covered with flax colored linen featuring an avocado green hand-screened fern print. Notice the quality details such as crosshatched offsetting fabric utilized on the cushion piping chair back.

So here we have an eco-friendly option (one less item in the landfill!), repurposed by local artisans (yay!), uniquely beautiful (won't be seeing the same furnishings at your friend's house) and waiting to find a home!

If you have a tired old chair you've been thinking of dumping ... give us a call and we'll help you transform it into something affordably amazing!

Flock Textiles - New Arrivals at Mignonne!

The Flock Home Linens line is all about bohemianism, optimism, and California dreamin'! Gina Pericini, clothing designer and now founder of Flock Home Linens, has more than 20 years of design experience. Her textile line of home decor and linen tabletop accessories feature hand-printed linen dinner napkin sets, placemats, cocktail napkins, coasters and tea towels.

Gina features both self-drawn and found illustrations of flora and fauna in her line. She uses eco-friendly linens and non-toxic dyes. Gina is inspired by vintage textiles and illustrations. Her patterns range from stag beetles and birds to toadstools, mushrooms, Queen Anne's lace, sea botanicals and cattails.

Gina's designs are printed by hand on high quality linen and cotton (for the tea towels).

A fresh order of pillows and linen napkins are on their way to Mignonne! Stop by soon to check them out.

25% OFF SALE During Today's Green Potluck Event!

Mignonne's Green Potluck Event is TODAY, Saturday, September 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in our Old Oakland boutique.

We are partnering with 2 great vendors:

Leslie Lavitt is the proprietor of 2 Twigs & a Bay Leaf, a sustainable, community based florist in Oakland. Her motto, "Work with what you have", is a “green” idea that 2 Twigs & a Bay Leaf capitalizes on. It’s what great chefs ask, much like food and wine, taking your cue from Mother Nature’s seasonal bounty. What is readily available in my garden, my friends and neighbors’ gardens?

2 Twigs & a Bay Leaf produces organic, relaxed floral designs while supporting the earth, recycling and reducing fossil fuels by using local materials, mostly what’s in the backyard. You’ll be amazed. Leslie will be displaying her unique designs at our Green Potluck Event. Stop by for information and inspiration.

Also partnering with us is Gina Pericini of Flock, a local designer who creates handmade silk-screened kitchen towels, cocktail napkins, and pillows. We recently began offering Gina's line of kitchen linens and the Green Potluck Event is a great time to stop by and check them out.

We're moving towards entertaining season ... our special event is a great time to gain inspiration for refreshing your décor with a low impact to the environment. Of course, special in-store savings will also be offered during the event.

Delectable nibbles from B Restaurant, G.B. Ratto & Co. International GrocersTamarindo Antojeria and Sweet Adeline Bakeshop will be offered "potluck style" on some of Mignonne's beautiful vintage tableware. (Click on the restaurant name for more information about our wonderful donors).

See you there!
