Merchandising Internship

Continuing with the theme of our Merchandising Intern Program, our second Spring merchandising intern is Nicole Ginelli. Nicole is a freelance designer who lives in and works from San Francisco. She specializes in branding, identity, print and web design. Nicole will be designing the displays for our 10th street display window. If you have interest in consulting with Nicole, she can be contacted via her website nicoleginelli.com..

Nicole's recent Mignonne display design is featured in the pictures here.

If you know someone who might be interested in an intern rotation at Mignonne, send them our way !

Spring Merchandising Interns!

Mignonne has extended our commitment to local artists to include creating opportunities for young aspiring artists to demonstrate their creativity and gain experience in décor merchandising. We have a rotating, 3-month internship program for design and art students in our local community.

For spring, we have two interns joining our team.

We'd like to introduce the first participant, Laura Evans. Laura is 26 years old and graduated from Oakland's Mills College with a BA in Music. A bay area native who lives in Oakland, she has a knack for design and wanted an experience to expand her portfolio. We are delighted to have her on board and she has already been an immense help to the shop.

Laura recently completed the latest display window design and interior merchandising displays, pictured here. The design incorporates colors and elements that are fresh trends in this year's spring décor.

If you know of a local artist or student in the area that would be interestested in our program, have them contact us at Mignonne (contact details in our blog header).

Check back soon to meet our second participant!

Introducing our new Merchandising Intern, Hannah Fenves

We are delighted to introduce our merchandising intern for the coming quarter.

Hannah Fenves grew up in the east bay and graduated from Saint Mary's College of California with a degree in Studio Art. She is interested in how design can influence people's perceptions of the environment they are in, whether it be graphic design, fashion design, or interior design.

She also enjoys collaborating with other artists to create installations that are layered, unique, and colorful; juxtaposing elements that are not often paired together.

We anticipate some great collaborative outcomes from Hannah partnering with Johnelle to design our popular store windows and in-store vignettes.

As a reminder, Mignonne has extended our commitment to local artists to include creating opportunities for young aspiring artists to demonstrate their creativity and gain experience in décor merchandising. We have a rotating, 3-month internship program for design and art students in our local community.

If you know of a local artist or student in the area that would be interestested in our program, have them contact us at Mignonne (contact details in our blog header).

We will be interviewing for the new year (2009) rotation in December.

Au Revoir and Bonne Chance to intern Mallory Vogel

The first round of Mignonne's internship program concluded recently and it is time to bid farewell to our first participant, Mallory Vogel.

Mallory made several great contributions during her rotation, including beautifully conceived painted window designs and in-store displays. She brought a great positive attitude and drive throughout the time she spent in our boutique. Mallory is freshly launching her career as a window designer and merchandiser at an eco-savvy design store in San Francisco.

We wish her all the best while sharing a photo of her final window design!

Check out Mignonne's New Window Design!

At Mignonne, our windows have always been a great neighborhood attraction.  Recently, we decided to extend our commitment to local artists to include creating opportunities for young aspiring artists to demonstrate their creativity and gain experience in décor merchandising.  We have introduced a rotating, 3-month internship for design and art students in our local community.

Our first participant, Mallory Vogel, is a visual communications major at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco.

Mallory has a passion for design and décor and just completed her first window for us in her internship series, shown in the slide show above.

Mallory applied a paint technique to the window to achieve a frame effect reminiscent of a Parisian diorama.

If you know of a local artist or student in the area that would be interestested in our program, have them contact us.
