well we're just coming off of an amazing week-end at the Alameda Antique Fair (more commonly known as the Alameda Flea). We are avid participants ... when the weather is fair. The past few months it has not been so. Rain and inclement weather has kept us away ... our wares (painted and upholstered furniture, cool vintage décor items) do not fare well in such climes ...
So when we found out the forecast was for fine and fair weather all the week-end long, we ramped up!!! we arrived with an amazing collection of freshly prepared furniture ... hot colored chests of drawers, farm tables, exotic vanities, upholstered chairs, art piece settees, well you name it, we had it!
Heavy emphasis on HAD!!! the rest of the SF Bay area 'tique picking population must have heard as well because they arrived in HORDES!!!! and it was hot! real hot!!
It was like a rock concert. seriously! the rows and rows of cars were endless!! the entry line snaked like Mick was on the ticket!
and there were not only double the attendees, but it seemed like the vendor population had grown as well.
We nearly sold out, which made for a much easier return ... here's hoping for the same weather next month, and also to see you there so you don't miss out!
The fair is the first Sunday of each month, takes place at the old Naval Air Station. à la prochaine!!
