My Bearded Pigeon {100% Organci}
My Bearded Pigeon is the grown up brand of crafter Cath Young from children's brand chunky chooky. Cath lives with her husband, daughter and big old dog on a few acres on the edge of the small green town of Bellingen on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia. Fun fact: Her home was featured on the Etsy blog recently, you can have a look here.
Cath makes these exclusive atlas (and photographic) cushions using 100% certified organic cotton. Junk Mail Stationery for the Unconsumption Project
This is pretty rad. Have you heard of Rob Walker's new Unconsumption Project yet? He asked a select group of artists to create a project re-purposing existing items using his Unconsumption logo - the idea is to essentially create something cool and "new" from something you already own. Anyway, I came across this fun video from the folks at Yellow Owl Workshop where they created a project to turn junk mail or scrap paper into personal stationery. Weekend Project: Tin Can Hanging Planters
I came across this crafty little DIY project idea yesterday which combines two of my favourite things, recycling and decoupage. Wabi-Sabi Wanderings created them which I'm thinking would be fun hanging under a veranda outdoors for the summer. Click here to see.

Mignonne is continuing our chair design partnership with textile artist Gina Perincini of Flock. In addition to our line of custom dining chairs, customer can now select occasional chairs for purchase ... or bring in one for custom design treatment.
Here's an example of what you can select. This vintage Federal armchair, circa 1940s has been covered with flax colored linen featuring an avocado green hand-screened fern print. Notice the quality details such as crosshatched offsetting fabric utilized on the cushion piping chair back.
So here we have an eco-friendly option (one less item in the landfill!), repurposed by local artisans (yay!), uniquely beautiful (won't be seeing the same furnishings at your friend's house) and waiting to find a home!

Flock Textiles - New Arrivals at Mignonne!
The Flock Home Linens line is all about bohemianism, optimism, and California dreamin'! Gina Pericini, clothing designer and now founder of Flock Home Linens, has more than 20 years of design experience. Her textile line of home decor and linen tabletop accessories feature hand-printed linen dinner napkin sets, placemats, cocktail napkins, coasters and tea towels.Gina features both self-drawn and found illustrations of flora and fauna in her line. She uses eco-friendly linens and non-toxic dyes. Gina is inspired by vintage textiles and illustrations. Her patterns range from stag beetles and birds to toadstools, mushrooms, Queen Anne's lace, sea botanicals and cattails.
Gina's designs are printed by hand on high quality linen and cotton (for the tea towels).
