Welcome to Dutchcrafters' Amish Furniture Blog!

Welcome to our new DutchCrafters blog, a place where you'll find updated and focused articles specifically designed to inform and educate about our heirloom quality, solid wood, Amish furniture that is made in the USA.

At DutchCrafters, we've spent years forming close and personal relationships with Amish furniture shops throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. Our Amish friends are amongst the best furniture craftsmen around. They strive to build furniture that stands above the rest - heirlooms that can be passed along from generation to generation.

Since 2003 we've done our very best to match the quality of the Amish furniture with a superb customer experience. Our Amish furniture specialists are knowledgeable and experienced. They have sat in the chairs, run their hands across the beds, looked under the tables and smelled the raw wood firsthand. Courteous and professional, they have helped thousands of customers navigate options, select styles, and choose stains.

Speaking of stain selection, we go the extra mile by providing our customers with real wood stain samples - free of charge - whenever a purchase of Amish furniture is made.

Our delivery folks are generally blanket wrapping specialists that take pride in the many positive customer comments that have been received about them over the years. It is not unusual for us to hear that one of our customers was so pleased with their delivery service that they invited us in for a cup of tea or piece of homemade pie. (We don't expect it, but we sure do appreciate it!)

OceanFare Half Hulls

OceanFare half hulls are crafted of beautiful mahogany on frame wood.

They are handcrafted by a highly specialized artisans guild in the Dominican Republic according to the strictest of standards. These artisans are highly trained experts, using computer aided design to obtain 100% accuracy in replication. The workmanship is unbelievable! Five coats of lacquer give the work a radiant polish.

History of Half Hulls

The art of making half hull models is as old as shipbuilding itself. Half hulls were traditionally crafted by ship builders to give a three-dimensional shape to their hull designs and aid as a model in the construction of the real boat.

Over time, sailors, boat enthusiasts, and model collectors around the world began to value half hulls for their own artistic and intrinsic value. Today half hulls adorn the walls of offices, living rooms, libraries, restaurants, and pubs world-wide.

Each OceanFare half hull comes attractively framed on solid frame wood, perfectly showcasing the hull itself. A gold colored plate handsomely displays the name and year of the model.
