Tickle me Turquoise....

If you love the color turquoise as much as I do, then you absolutely must check out this blog I recently discovered called House of Turquoise.  Everyday without fail, the blog's author Erin showcases beautiful interiors that have one thing in common: the color turquoise!

As I was browsing through her site, I fell upon this adorable beach house designed by Carter Kay  which was once featured in Coastal Living  magazine.

One of my favorite things about this house is the dreamy front porch... two massive reclaimed wood swings overlook the sea ahead. Inside, the home is just as spectacular. The design direction is earthy, young, dynamic and renders a beautiful hommage to the color blue.

Here's a sneak peek!

Wishing you all a great weekend,
Myriam

Rest & Relaxation...

I've had a very long week at work and I am thrilled that the weekend has finally made its way back into my life.  I desperately need to recharge my batteries and am looking forward to nothing but rest and relaxation for the next 48 hours...  I'm giddy at the thought of  lounging in my back yard, soaking in the sun and reading the latest issue of Style at Home magazine.  As I embark on this restful journey, I would like to leave you with images from "A Beach Cottage" that, in my opinion, represent serenity, peace, tranquility and a hint of coastal laziness...

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Myriam

The cutest house I have ever seen.... ever!

Okay, so I have way too many  favorite houses but this one is my favorite favorite! It's so sweet I'm getting cavities just looking at it. First and foremost, I must acknowledge the brilliance that is Munger Interiors. This Houston-based interior design firm consists of two unspeakably talented sisters; Amy and Elizabeth Munger. If you like this house as much as I do, I strongly suggest you check out the rest of their portfolio here, all the spaces they've designed are just as spectacular as this one. What I love most about this Texan waterfront home is the contrast between the dark floors and the quiet neutrals. I also love the use of texture and how beautifully it has been carried throughout the house. A few personal highlights: the sisal carpet, wicker chairs and reclaimed wood furniture from Custom Furniture L.A. The outdoor area is also a showstopper with colorful bursts of turquoise accents against a wicker and teak backdrop. I'm not sure where the towels and monogrammed pales displayed in the entrance were purchased, but I thought that was such a lovely and personal way to acknowledge the four children who live in this dreamy beach house. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I really need to stop writing and simply share the following 12,000 words with you. Enjoy.
